FQ: Im 18w 4d and today I woke up with some cramping and thought it was gas or a GI problem. Well around noon I noticed a streak of bright red blood when I wiped so I called my OB and he told me to come get checked out. First he did an ultrasound and everything appeared okay, but then he did a vaginal exam which I noticed to immediately be extremely painful. He said my cervix had dilated and my amniotic sac was completely exposed but in tact. He did some swabs and another ultrasound which showed my little booger stretching his foot through my vaginal opening. He tested the swabs which showed I was not leaking any fluid so my only option was an emergency cerclage and it would be a high risk surgery. He explained the danger of my water breaking during surgery and only having a 50/50 chance. I am now post op in post partum and they will test in the morning to see if Im leaking now and do another ultrasound. If I am leaking Ill probably loose the baby . Have any of you been through this? What was your experience. I know for a fact Ill be on bed rest. ~10
