FQ: Moms, I am in need of some medical help. My 26 month old - TopicsExpress

FQ: Moms, I am in need of some medical help. My 26 month old little boy tested positive for the flu around Christmas time, took tamiflu for the prescribed days the doctor ordered, didnt really show any symptoms other than a high fever. Luckily within a few days, he was a lot better. Just this week he developed pink eye. He just finished those drops today. No more pink eye, but while at the doctors with his father he was napping on my shoulder and I noticed he was itching his face and my husband had said he was getting a rash. I turned him around and saw that it was on his cheeks, chin, neck, and ears. I rushed to find the doctor and by the time I found her, his face was swollen, red, and hot. They gave him some Benadryl and it cleared up within minutes. I followed up with his pediatrician who then told me to follow up with his allergen. At first she told me to keep Benadryl in his system because whatever he ingested will make him break out until he poops it out. By 8 pm, not even 5 hours from his first dose of Benadryl the hives are all over his body. The allergen tells me to give him more, I do. 9 pm hes running a 101.7 fever. I give him some Motrin and its came down. The hives have calmed down too, but what I dont understand is what caused this? Was it the new candy or juice he tried in the grocery store around 2:30-3:00pm? He has a cold with a horrible cough, could he possibly have the flu or strep throat? I read that the flu and strep throat both cause hives and fever, but he took and finished his tamiflu like he was ordered. Has anyone else have this happen? What did you do? The allergen then said she thought it was a virus and the hives were coming from that. He does have C-Diff and is on antibiotics for that and has been for awhile. If the hives were coming from the C-Diff or the antibiotics wouldnt they have shown up sooner than now? We cant do anything doctor related until Monday, any helpful ideas or advice for me and my son? *emma*
