FQ: My son just got diagnosed with MRSA for the second time yesterday. Last time he had it was in January. I am pretty sure he got it from swimming in the apt complex pool. They gave him a big shot with lots of medicine last night and gave me cream. I put band aids over it because it has now started to drain. The area where its purple and hard looks a little bigger. They said monitor him very closely. And if fever keeps coming back to take him back to the ER. They ER called today to check on him and they said it sounds as if it is getting better. He dont even want to sit on it because it hurts. I have Tylenol on hand for fevers. I soaked his butt in Epsom salt and warm water earlier. And put the cream and a band aid over it and gave him the oral antibiotics. My question is, does anyone have any tips on how to help ease the pain until Monday when the doctors opens up? I am calling health department on Monday and my Mother told the complex managers today. They hd, shut the pools down once before like a month ago. Should I warn other parents? Sorry for it being so long. Just want tips to help ease pain. Oh, he turned one on July 4th and is also teething so the fevers are worse and he also gets seizures when fever gets too high. Also has chronic asthma.
