FQ: Please post: I had a C-section last October and while still on the operating table, the doctor told me that because of the incision in my uterus, Ill never be able to attempt a VBAC, and that I would have to be induced at 36 weeks with any future pregnancy because they do NOT want me to go into labor on my own due to the high chances of uterine rupture. They didnt tell me anything else.. I got curious and did some research. I have a Vertical Uterine Incision. They gave me a small horizontal bikini cut on the outside but cut my uterus vertically on the inside. I read that its rare to get that type of incision for a C-section; used for preterm babies, babies with abnormalities, abnormally placed placentas and extreme emergencies. Im not sure if it was considered an extreme emergency but I didnt have any of that other stuff. Does anyone else have the same Vertical Uterine Incision and if so, what was the reason you needed to get it?
