FRAN --------------Rangers: Dundee United pay Charlie Telfer cash to Ibrox club By Chris McLaughlin BBC Sport Rangers have received some much-needed funds in the shape of cash owed to them by Dundee United for Charlie Telfer. Just over £200,000 was paid by the Tannadice club on Tuesday following a long battle over compensation for the 19-year-old midfielder. Telfer left Rangers in the summer on freedom of contract, with the Ibrox club due a payment for his development. Rangers shareholder Sandy Easdale this week loaned the club £500,000 to prevent them going into administration. And the Scottish Championship outfit have subsequently announced that they will require further emergency funding during January. Telfer, who only made one appearance for Rangers first team, has played eight times for United this season, scoring twice, after moving to the Premiership outfit. United chairman Stephen Thompson, who had offered £100,000 for the player, spoke out angrily at the decision by the Scottish Professional Football League to award Rangers double that amount.
