Join The Dallas Opera for an extraordinary conversation between survivor Dr. Beck Weathers and EVEREST librettist Gene Scheer about one of the deadliest days in the mountain’s history. Wednesday, January 14, 7pm at the Perot Museum, Downtown Dallas Eight people died near the summit of the world’s highest peak within one 24-hour period in May 1996. Weathers, who helped inspire the opera, managed to survive some of the harshest weather on the planet and make his way back to camp after having been left for dead.
