FREE HISPANIC LANDSCAPE TRAINING IN SEPTEMBER Clark County Cooperative Extension is offering FREE landscape training for the Hispanic community green industry (nursery, landscaping and landscape maintenance)on Tuesday evenings (5:30 – 8:30 p.m.) in September. Topics and dates are: September 3, Fertilizers & Soil; September 10, Proper Planting Techniques; September 17, Insect and Pest Control for Native and Non-Native Plants; and September 24, Palms: Growing, Pruning & Maintenance The training also includes materials focusing on improving English and math skills, meeting job expectations, paying attention to details, and safety/worker protection topics (lifting techniques, PPE, and industry safety standards). The classes will be in Spanish and in English at the Lifelong Learning Center (8050 Paradise Road, LV 89123). The training sessions are open to any private, public employer and the public at no charge.
