FREE INFORMATION SERVICE AVAILABLE FOR ALL A FREE service is now available for all Kent residents to help them find which health and social care services are available for them. The service is part of Healthwatch Kent, a new independent consumer champion for people who use Kent’s many health and social care services. Healthwatch’s Information and Signposting dedicated service is available to everyone and will help people to find the services that they require within the complex NHS system in Kent. Talking about the service, Healthwatch’s Charlie Fox said, “We are getting calls and providing assistance to people from all over the county. For example, one customer had been struggling to find a local dentist with a winch to lift him from his wheel chair. Our team tracked one down for him and provided all the information he needed to make an appointment. We know how complicated it can be to find your way around the health and social care system. Our team of trained staff can take the worry away and find the answers for you. I have no doubt that once people are more aware of our service then we can be of assistance to hundreds of people every week.” Healthwatch Kent also wants to hear about peoples’ views and their experiences of local health and social care services.
