FREE Insulation Upgrades for Homes in Tipperary Under the 2014 Tipperary Warmer Homes Scheme, eligible homeowners in Tipperary can avail of free insulation upgrades. This will make homes warmer and more comfortable to live in, plus cheaper to run. The following is included in this scheme: attic insulation, cavity wall insulation, ventilation, draft proofing measures of windows and doors, energy efficient bulbs and an energy monitor. Homeowners in receipt of the following are eligible for this free upgrade - Fuel Allowance, Job Seekers Allowance for over six months and has children under 7 years of age or the Family Income Supplement (FIS). Proof of receipt of any of the above payments, which can be obtained from your social welfare office is required to apply for the scheme. If you do not receive any of the above supplements you can still avail of the insulation upgrades for €295. There are a limited number of places available and will be offered to homeowners in Tipperary on a first come first served basis. Paul Kenny, CEO, Tipperary Energy Agency said “If you’re living in a poorly insulated house and are eligible for the scheme, it’s just a matter of filling out the application form and getting proof of payment of the Fuel Allowance, Family Income Supplement or Job Seekers. Householders will see significant changes in their homes this winter as a result of these works”.
