FREE MALAK AL-KHATIB! Malak Al-Khatib, a 14-year-old eighth-year student, was arrested about three weeks ago on her way home from school. Since then she has been in detention in the Sharon Prison, in harsh prison conditions that have made her ill. On January 19th she was brought in handcuffs to the military tribunal in Ofer Prison for a hearing on a prolongation of her detention, but the military prosecutor didn’t bother to turn up & she was returned to prison until the next hearing.Soldiers claim that they saw her throwing stones. No Jewish child has ever been detained for 3 weeks (at least) for such a transgression. Even the disgusting racists who set the bilingual school ablaze were released & sent home after their interrogation. & the settlers who threw stones at the American consul were not even arrested.Malak is 14 years old. She’s sick. It’s wrong to keep her in detention just because she was born a Palestinian
