Hello Everyone, This is the announcement of the reformulated Knoxville Comic & Anime Convention, April 26 & 27 , 2014.We have put a lot of changes into the show to, hopefully , make it the best value for your hard earned dollar! It will be at the Knoxville Expo Center, 5441 Clinton Hwy, Knoxville , Tn 37912, Hours are Sat 10:00am to 6:00PM, Sunday 11:00 am to 4:00 PM. Admission for the event is 10.00 per day. If you are coming in from out –of-town or want to stay near the Expo Center. We have arranged a HOST Hotel…The Clarion Inn, 5634 Merchants Center Blvd, Knoxville, TN 37912 (865)687-8989.. They are only 1 mile from the Center ,and they have a FREE BREAKFAST in the morning … They really treated us right last year. Just ask for the Comic City Con rate of 55.00, the hotel will offer that rate starting (3/1/14) of when you make reservations, just ask for the Comic City rate . We have a website knoxvillecomicanimecon and a FB page for updates, directions and show information. We have tried to design the show as a true Fan –Friendly experience. First ALL our Guests will be signing UNLIMITED FREE AUTOGRAPHS! If you bring an item to one of our Guests, They will sign it FOR FREE!! The Guests WILL charge for photos, prints, ect. bought FROM them..But they are SIGNING everything you bring them for FREE! Second, as usual, parking is FREE. Third, we have totally changed the All Access Package AND dropped the price from 50.00 to 35.00…details of the package are below. Fourth, we are doing one Raffle each day…On Saturday we are drawing for a New Flat Screen Television (600.00 value!) …. On Sunday we will have a HUGE Prize Collection, Comics, Autographs, Posters, Toys, DVDS, CDs, Anime & Manga items, More! (retail value of 3000.00). You don’t have to pay anything extra, you are automatically entered when to pay admission to the show… Each paid attendee who comes to the show will receive ONE ticket for a prize drawing per paid admission ...NOW, PAID ATTENDEES WHO COME IN COSTUME , will receive 10 Tickets for the Prize Drawings, with your admission, the All Access Package members will receive 25 Tickets for the drawing…All Access Members who come in costume will receive an additional 10 tickets for a total of 35 Tickets for the Drawing! Fifth, FREE GAMING ALL DAY…EACH DAY! …Hundreds of Games from Apples to Apples, Monopoly, Pokemon, Magic, available to play! You check out the Game from our Library and , if you need assistance, Our “Games Masters” are there to help you by explaining the rules or helping in setting up the games for you. There will also be TOURNAMENTS that will be announced as we get closer to the show! FINALLY, EACH paid attendee will receive a FREE Knoxville Comic & Anime Con T-SHIRT with their admission (while supplies last!) . This design was created JUST for our show by Artist Mark Wright and only available thru the show! The shirts are in Small, Medium, Large and Extra-Large sizes. COSTUME CONTEST We have also changes the costume contest. We are doing 2 sets of Costume Contests …On Saturday, We are having 3 Categories #1. Movie /TV #2. Anime /Manga #3.Comic Book Characters…..On Sunday we are doing 3 Categories #1 Children Costumers/Cosplayers #2. Steam Punk #3. GROUPS ..Enter as a combined 3 or more contestants (The Avengers, Dragon Ball group , Sailor Moon Stars, Power Rangers, etc) There MUST be 3 or more people in the group to qualify to the category. When you arrive, and enter the Contest at the door, you will be assigned a Number, this is how you will be identified by the judges. The Costume Contest will be held in the meeting area, The contestant will come to the front and display their costume, introduce themselves, and , if you choose, briefly tell the judges how you made, etc. and then walk over to the “staging area” and wait for the judges to announce the winners. The Costume Contest will NOW be judged by 2 of our guests and 2 of our Cos-play judges . The winner of each category will receive a 100.00 Dealer Buck shopping spree in the Dealers Room..ANYTHING you want…you choose…we pay! The GROUP Category will receive a 100.00 Dealers Room shopping spree divided equally among its members (for example…5 members in the winning category…Each member gets 20.00 to spend in the Room…4 members would each get 25.00 each to spend in the room……17 members would each receive 5.88 each to spend in the Room….and so on.) The Group winners will also receive a 500.00 Prize Box full of DVDs, Toys, Comics, Manga, Games, etc . to divide amongst the members! The Costume Rules can be found on the website . There will be a “Costume Parade “ , before the judging, around the dealers room to show off your costumes and photo OPS. ALL CHILDREN who enter the Costume Contest will receive a FREE PRIZE PACKAGE just for entering! SPECIAL HARLEY QUINN COSTUME CONTEST!!!! We are holding a special Harley Quinn Only Costume Contest that will be judged by Harley Quinn artist Chad Hardin and our 2 Cosplay Judges ….The Winner of the Harley Quinn Contest will receive a HAND DRAWN SKETCH COVER OF HARLEY QUINN BY CHAD HARDIN created JUST for YOU! This contest will be held outside the regular contest…The Harley Quinn contestants can ALSO enter the regular Costume Contest….The winner is also eligible to enter the main costume contest!!! FAN BANNER CONTEST SUNDAY….Do you have a group/fan club/ etc…Homestuck, My Little Pony, Attack on Titan, Star Wars, Hetalia…etc. ? If you can get at least 4 people in the group, you can enter our “Create Your Group’s Banner “ Contest. We will give you a 6 foot Table, and a 6 foot sheet of paper ..We will provide the basic Crayons & Colored Markers and the 6 foot paper ….YOUR Team has from 11am to 2:00 pm to make up the best representation of YOUR group on a Banner. You could be the Super Hero Club and create a Banner with the Avengers attending a convention…or be the Dragon Ball Team and have a Super Saiyan piece…YOUR Team comes up with the theme of your Banner…..The Banner will be carried around the room at 2PM and will be judged by our art panel….The winner will be announced and the winning Team will receive a Prize Package ( a 500.00 Retail Value)to divide up among your members…EACH Team that enters and finishes their Banner will receive a Prize Box worth over 100.00 to share with each of your team.
