FREE TO A GOOD HOME! Betty AKA Ugly Betty is a 29 year old 16h standardbred mare. She was given to me a few months ago by her longtime owner who was going to take her to the sale. I have used her the past 2 months as a camp horse for my beginner kids. She has been wonderful, hasnt taken a bad step. Totally laid back, anyone can ride. Unfortunately when I took her in I was told she was a lot younger and Im afraid out lesson program is going to be too strenuous for her. I cant afford to keep her if Im not using her. She does require some maintenance for asthma in the summer. She does some trotting and is gaited but would be best suited as a pasture mare or primarily walking horse. Would be a great trail horse or therapy horse. She is not entirely sound due to an old founder. Maybe with some corrective shoeing and joint supplements could improve. Right now we have her barefoot. Easy keeper, holds her weight well. Gets along with anyone in the field, no bad habits. Really nice old girl. I hate to be getting rid of her at such a late age, I wouldnt of taken her of I knew how old she was, but hoping to find someone who will give her a few good last years!
