FREE lease or $500 sale to a good home. 1997 registered QH Gelding Mr. Cabin Assurance aka Apollo. 16hh chestnut with a star. Apollo has evented through Training level and competed through Level 5 Jumpers. Unfortunately, he has intermittent soundness issues. Has been vetted extensively (Xrays, nerve blocks, ortho exams at Midatlantic and University of Pennsylvania) without any obvious structural problem. Possibly an issue with his back. He does best with a lighter rider (has given me some issues with riders > 200lbs). Rides English and western, hacks out alone or in a group. Hasnt been jumped due to soundness issues but never had a stop when he was competing. Takes on all terrain, water, hills, slopes, etc without an issue. Super ground manners. I have used him for teaching everything from grooming to body clipping to bandaging to how to put on a harness when he has never worn one and he just stood without an issue. Lunges, longlines, and lunges in side - reins like all dream. He can very tense when ridden but responds well to suppling and strengthening exercises. He has been maintained on Equioxx in the past with pretty good results. May do best in a situation with a brave rider who wants to stick to low level riding at at a facility with good footing. Easy keeper on turnout, hay, and senior feed. He is selling/leasing with no soundness guarantee. I just dont have the time to devote to him and he deserves that. Please PM me for more information.
