FREEBURN & HAMILTON WINS JURY VERDICT FOR INJURED PEDESTRIAN: Freeburn & Hamilton is pleased to announce that Attorney Richard E. Freeburn won a jury verdict in the June 2013 term of Dauphin County Court for a pedestrian who was struck in a crosswalk. The driver claimed that she brought her vehicle to a stop and never struck our client. Attorney Richard E. Freeburn was able to prove that the defendant never saw the plaintiff until after our client was struck. Freeburn was also able to prove that the defendant couldn’t see that her car had entered the crosswalk from her position in the driver’s seat. Freeburn had the firm’s in-house investigator go to the scene with the same make, model and year car that the defendant was driving, and a driver of the same physical stature as the defendant. The investigator had the driver position herself in the car seat exactly as the defendant said her car seat was positioned. The investigator also placed the car exactly in the same position on the road as the defendant had said her car was located on the roadway. The photos taken by the Freeburn & Hamilton investigator proved that the defendant could not have seen the crosswalk from where she was seated in her vehicle. Attorney Freeburn said that until the trial the defendant had offered no money to their client. The defendant agreed to pay the limit of liability insurance coverage in the sum of $50,000.00, if the plaintiff won at trial.
