FREEDOM For many years Christians thought that they were to - TopicsExpress

FREEDOM For many years Christians thought that they were to avoid or ignore any involvement in the political scene. That is, perhaps, one of the biggest mistakes the church has ever made. One of the reasons why we have such a mess in government today is because people who can’t think straight are making the decisions for us as to how we are going to operate. That is not meant to be critical of our politicians because some of them are Christian and do the very best they can. It is meant to tell it like it is. People who are not regenerated cannot be expected to think with any good sense. Their best efforts will fall short and fail in most instances. When Christians disagree with ‘NO SENSE’ programs they are made out to be the bad guy. There is a reason for conservative Christians being described as being to the right of center. It’s because they are right! Liberals are to the left but would be better described as simply being wrong. Is that always the case? When is sin anything but sin? It doesn’t mean a liberal is necessarily wrong. They have the option of changing their opinion. When have you ever heard a liberal use a reference to the Bible? The only time they ever use the word ‘BIBLE’ is when they are attempting to throw it out of our schools or courts or government. Taking a stand requires conviction. Convictions are developed. They cannot be decided or changed by opinions. There are some today who develop their convictions on a day by day basis. The problem is that what they believe takes on a new look regularly. That theory works really well if you can get people to forget what you said yesterday. Before we decide we must rightly divide. How do we do that? It’s really not as difficult as it may seem. The trick is to not be tricked into thinking that the process is laborious. The rule is to find it in the Bible and then follow what you find.
