FREEDOM OF SPEECH: today I received a letter from Porthcawl Comprehensive School accusing me of reporting non-factual events on Facebook - the fact that my child was horrified and scared by an assault on a another boy at the school last week. The letter states a full transcript of my original post on the Porthcawl First FB page and the attached comments has been provided for the police, who will contact me shortly. QUESTION: Am I not allowed to suggest that my child saw bullying at Porthcawl Comprehensive School? I did not name any persons, merely comment on an incident which upset my child. Further comments appeared to suggest past incidents of bullying at the school - I did not comment on those and certainly did not purport that they were factual in content. I welcome a debate on policing Facebook chat, but having nothing more to say with regard to Porthcawl Comprehensive Schools stance on this matter.
