FRENCH BASED CHIPOLOPOLO DUO PLAN TO BOYCOTT JAPAN FRIENDLY Reports from Sochaux, France are indicating that defender Stoppila Sunzu and midfielder Nathan Sinkala are planning to boycott Zambias international friendly against Japan in June. Reasons behind the boycott is that the players are bitter following the Football Association of Zambias decision to ban for life, football administrator Andre Mtine, from all football activities. The players are bitter that the former FAZ treasurer was banned for allegedly being part of the confusion leading to the tiff between FAZ and Democratic Republic of Congo side TP Mazembe. He was accused of being at the centre of a club versus country stand-off involving former TP Mazembe trio Rainford Kalaba, Sinkala and Sunzu in 2013. The trio endured a four hour interrogation and had their passports confiscated as they were heading back to their club in Lubumbashi at the height of the confusion which only ended through country-to-country negotiations. They had been accsued of sneaking out of the country illegally with the help of Mtine. Kalaba, Sunzu and Sinkala had missed the Brazil friendly in China on account of injury and illness with Mtine supervising the players trip to Zambia. FAZ held them back from returning to Congo for a TP Mazembe fixture against Stade Malien of Mali. Mtines presence around the trio is said to have riled FAZ president Kalusha Bwalya and sports minister Chishimba Kambwili leading to the life ban. Mtine becomes the second administrator to be banned this year, following the footsteps Simataa Simataa.
