FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS PART 4 These are the next two in a series of FAQs posted at the suggestion of a follower of this page. IS IT TOO LATE TO LEARN TO PLAY A BRASS INSTRUMENT? The simple answer to that question is no. That is one of the reasons Sligo Brass Music; working in association with Connacht Brass has been set up. We can provide both tuition and a performance outlet (when sufficiently proficient) for which we have a small pool of instruments available for you to try. You do not have to be able to read music in order to start learning to play as brass instrument, although if you can it means you may learn quicker. I LEARNED TO PLAY A BRASS INSTRUMENT BUT HAVE NOT PLAYED FOR A WHILE. CAN I STILL JOIN UP WITH YOU? Yes you can. One of our aims is to encourage those in your position to return to playing. We will not throw you in at the deep end, as the saying goes. We can arrange skills brush up sessions with an experienced player, to bring you up to a good standard of playing, prior you attending full rehearsal.
