FRI-DAT MORNING QUARTERBACK: Im not going to go into too much details about Xs and Os- Im a singer, damn it! What I saw was a team that was well prepared once again, and on a short week nonetheless. Two prime time games back to back in four days is a tough road, so credit Payton and staff for having the Saints set to roll. A pass rush makes for good play from the defensive backs, and no pass rush does the opposite. Our team defense will live by and die by the pass rush, so it is nice to see it working. The running game was slow out of the gates- Im wondering how much the absence of FB Austin Johnson had a hand in this. Taking the fans out of the game wasnt easy, as both teams flip flopped with turnovers out of the gate. The Saints buckled down and overcame two early giveaways that could have been their death knell. Still a long way to go, but this is what we call a WIN STREAK, and even though they are merely 4-4, they now own the NFC South division lead. Quite simply put, the Saints were due for this victory. The Falcons were due to beat the Saints eventually, the Redskins were due to beat the Cowboys on prime time, and the Seahawks were due to lose at home. Nothing is forever in the NFL. Enjoy the highs of good football until the following weekend, Saints fans. I know I will!
