FRIDAY, 12/26/14 POETRY. Psalm 4:4 “Who is in Control?” (By Barry) WORSHIP: Here is my day-after-Christmas present to you! This is a little mini-concert, by Chris Tomlin. Listen to a song or two, or hear the entire thing while you go for a run or something! Enjoy! https://youtube/watch?v=43D8aUqSOQM SCRIPTURE: blueletterbible.org/Bible.cfm?b=Psa&c=4&t=NLT#s=482004 4 Don’t sin by letting anger control you. Think about it overnight and remain silent. THOUGHTS & QUESTIONS: —1. Is anger a sin? —2. Could it ever be a sin to NOT be angry? —3. Was Jesus ever angry? Can you think of pictures in the Old Testament of God’s anger? —4. How should a follower of Jesus handle this fiery emotion of anger? —5. What kinds of things make you REALLY, REALLY angry? —6. Did you notice that today’s verse does NOT tell us to never be angry. Instead, the sin happens when we let that anger control us. —7. Do your emotions control you, or do you control them? —8. Have you ever heard of counting to 100, to help your anger go away? This verse seems to take that a bit farther. What would happen if, when you are angry, you took an entire NIGHT before you responded? —9. Silence. How do you feel about silence? Is silence hard? Is it ever awkward? Is it especially difficult to be silent when you are angry? —10. What would happen if we took this verse seriously, and tried to apply it EVERY time we got angry? PRAYER: How are you with your anger? PRAY about it!
