FRIDAY JULY 5, 2013: “Look He is coming with the clouds and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; … SO SHALL IT BE! AMEN.” (Revelations 1:7) Amen…Amen. Come, Lord Jesus. Maranatha! A prayer usually ends with the familiar “Amen”, which means “so be it.” Yet ‘amen’ is also often used as an interjection when the preacher starts to warm up and smooth-talk things that fondles the ears. The word amen is also used in casual talk where it simply means “agreed”. Revelations 1:7 ends with the word Amen, yet it is actually a double Amen, because the words preceding it (so shall it be) also means amen. The verse says: “JESUS IS COMING!” Your plea to the mountains to fall on you and to the hills to cover you from this fact will fall on deaf ears. “Amen…Amen!” Every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; even those who disbelieved Him, disobeyed Him, scorned Him. “Amen…Amen!” All the peoples of the earth will mourn because of Him. Those who were once hot on His tracks but became lukewarm will mourn because of Him. “Amen…Amen!” Those who say that they follow Christ and add His Name to theirs as a second surname must remember their Great Commission is to proclaim Christ: His Life, Death AND Return! Their lives must revolve around the hub called “JESUS IS COMING!” They should enthusiastically intersperse their casual talk with the interjection: MARANATHA! Asked what it means, explain with another interjection: “JESUS IS COMING!” Prayer: Dear father God. Help me to live out this Eternal Double Truth: “JESUS IS COMING!” MARANATHA! “Amen…Amen!”
