FROCH-CHAVEZ CLOSE ACCORDING TO THE COBRA According to IBF & WBA Super Middleweight Champion Carl Froch 37, a Las Vegas title bout against Julio Cesar Chavez 28, is close to being a done deal. Frochs promoter Eddie Hearn, recently met, and had an apparent great meeting with Chavezs new manager/advisor Al Haymon not so long ago. Froch (33-2, 24KOs) is confident Eddie Hearn will be announcing an agreement soon along with the details. Froch has wanted to fight in Vegas for sometime and this looks like the right opportunity. Chavez (48-1-1, 32KOs) still has some issues to resolve with possible promoter/former promoter Top Rank, as Bob Arum claims Jr. still has a fight commitment under the Top Rank banner before his contract is up. As of now it looks like Chavez, along with Al Haymon are going to push on for the Froch fight regardless of the legal consequences or threats Arum is planning, which include suing Chavez and Haymon.
