FROGS PART 2 This clip is a warts a all one, I think the best bit about the go pro is you can study your mistakes. The other thing is you can also pick up on patterns these patterns are the reason we have so many techniques. The hook set on hollow bodies is the tricky part. If you watch the rod on the first two strikes you can clearly see I dont practice what I preach, each time I drop the rod down and strike and both times I pop the frog out of its mouth. The third cast I drop the rod down wind in the slack then strike that is practising what I preach, if you have a look at the clip from last night its the same. The hook set is a pattern thats the reason I should practice what I preach, the lob cast in this clip is part of a pattern and the skip cast in the earlier clip is part of a pattern. The lob cast is to make the frog appear to be jumping out of the trees and swimming across to the other side unaware of any bass behind them and the skip cast is to make the frog appear to be fleeing into cover which ends up being a lot like I said last night home delivered KFC straight into the basses lair. It is crucial to keep the pressure on them all of the time you can see when I go to land him I drop the rod back a bit to load him up on the bank and blew it another bit of poor fishing. Its not that easy to practice what you preach but I will keep trying, my grammar is poor as you can see so I will never be a poet I cant paint I am also tone death and cant play any musical instrument.
