FROM A MAN: No point in me asking for the men to respond only because that is not going to happen-LOL ZANE, Thank you for taking the time to read and respond. Like always, your words of wisdom is incredible. My situation maybe common, but Im sure someone can benefit from the situation. I am dating a single mother. She has an awesome daughter. But of course, with single moms, most come with drama. We have been dating for about 8 months now and so far everything has been great. Well recently (nonchalant like Im suppose to be okay with it) my girlfriend told me that the father of child is coming in town and wants to spend time with his child. Who am I to come between that? I think its very important for a father to be involved in a childs life. Whether the parents get along or not. But in my case, they co-parent well. Well this dude is coming into town and is going to be around my girlfriend 24/7 before he leaves (he is staying over the house). I feel some type of way about that. I almost feel like Im being made a fool. But then again, this could just be my immaturity kicking in. We spoke about it and she informed me that they are just friends and they co parent well and she wants her daughter to be with her father. Im thinking, why cant this guy get a hotel? To top it off, I barely hear from her throughout the day since the father came into town. My friends tell me I need to trust her and let it be. This should be about the child. Why is his presence interfering with her communicating with her boyfriend? Maybe Im thinking too much into it but I dont feel good about this situation at all. Should I suck it up till the end? Is this to be expected? Sign, Feeling like a backseat rider MY RESPONSE: I can understand how you feel because no woman would be cool with the situation either. They would not be cool with the mother of their mans child coming to visit and staying with him. You will simply have to trust her and belleve that she cares. She told you the truth. A lot of women would have lied and avoided you for the time period instead. Good luck but this is an interesting topic that a lot of people deal with.
