FROM ARO PSYCHIATRIC HOSPITAL TO YABA PSYCHIATRIC. A man who worked as a driver at Aro Psychiatric Hospital in Abeokuta was asked to convey a group of patients to the Yaba Psychiatry for lack of space at Abeokuta. On the way, he stopped to ease himself. And on getting back to the bus found out all the mental people had escaped. Not wanting to answer query, he devised a means to, by all means deliver mental people to Yaba. Of course, he knew that Lagos people love cheap things, ranging from loaves of bread to transport fare. He parked his ambulance bus by the road side, listened to conductors shouting Yaba two hundred naira! Yaba two hundred naira. He knew what to do. He began to shout...Yaba twenty naira! Yaba twenty naira. Omo!, come and see how Lagosians rushed the bus, not minding it its an ambulance or not. The man locked the ambulance and straight to Yaba Psychiatry! The gate was opened for him and so many hefty men and officials were on standby with syringe and niddles! The people started shouting Haaa! we are not mad o, we are not mad o. We are passengers. For where? The driver shouted. Passengers inside Psychiatric ambulance? Were ni gbogbo won o! (They are all madmen) That is how they behave o. Mental people would always say they are not mad! You better give them lagatin injection to calm them down. Me, I dont deliver o! Within a minute, the officials over-powered the mental people and began to give them injections, pushing them to their wards!
