Before the show there will be cake and punch service. After the concert, wrap up the evening with a communal bonfire. The River’s Edge is the perfect place to combine the serene beauty of nature and fun in the sun. Stay cool in the Georgia heat and splash around at the pool or soak up some sun and enjoy a stiff cocktail on the pool deck. There is also a gym, club house, small sundry story, laundry on-site, an in-ground hot tub enclosed by a pavilion and a breakfast café on weekends. The campground has 95 primitive tent sites (with or without electricity), RV pads with members several choices primitive sites with or without electricity hookups, and several different-sized and style cabins: 14 sleepers cabins (full-sized bed), eight loft cabins (full-sized loft bed and kitchenette), cabins with baths (full-sized loft beds, kitchenettes and shared bathroom and living room space), main cabins (shared cabin with a deck, four bedrooms and basic common areas) and two larger, private cabins – Piney Woods and their newest, Sunset Ridge. Campers with their own RV can hook up at one of their many RV sites. There are 59 annual sites and 40 that are for rent. All sites have both 30 and 50 amp electrical service and water. New this year is a bright, shiny, in-ground commercial hot tub! Nestled in a custom-built enclosure, the gigantic hot tub measures 8’ wide by 12’ across, with a depth of 3’. TRE was founded in 1994 by Ted Fortune and the late Terry Drayton on 65 acres of beautiful woodland in Dewy Rose, GA. The campground opened to the public with simply a small swimming pool, a picnic pavilion and plenty of tent-pitching-perfect sites. Despite their modest beginnings, the campground‘s popularity and success took off like wildfire. It was later sold to a group of investors and is now 100% gay owned and operated. River’s Edge quickly earned the title of the largest campground in the Southeast. Today, TRE has close to 20,000 members. With the somewhat rapid addition of new members each year – roughly 1,000 – River’s Edge has had the unique opportunity to growwith its members. The River’s Edge is a private, 21+ gay campground, and is located at 2311 Pulliam Mill Road in Dewy Rose, GA. Membership required: $20/new, $15/renewal.
