FROM DI STEYN: Hi...could you please post this for me...around 21.30 I turned onto Balmoor Terrace from the Morrisons road and saw 2 women looking at something in the middle of the road just by the turn into Catto Drive...it was a beautiful ginger cat that had been run over and killed and just left lying in the road...I stopped in Cato Drive and saw the women werent going to move the kitty, so I moved him off the road and put hmi by my car...I asked them if they saw what happened and they said no...so I knocked on 2 doors immediately where the cat had been knocked over, and found the cats family on the third door...I had to give this poor lady and her young daughter the devastating news!! To the idiot that knocked Alfie over and left him there, I hope your conscience keeps you awake tonight and for some time to come...on that corner you should have been able to avoid hitting the kitty if you had been coming round the corner with due care, but I would hazard a guess that you were perhaps driving the same way a lot of idiots do on that part of the road...TOO FAST!!! To the lady who stopped in the silver? 4x4, after I had moved the at and found the owner...thank you for coming back...you said you had phoned the vet and the police but they werent interested, shame on them aswell...and to the family who have just lost their precious furbaby...I am so sorry for your sad loss...I know just how devastated you are right now...people...please...if you do hit an anmal on the road unavoidably...remember that it is someones pet and part of a family...if you cant do the decent thing and ask around for the ownner, at th very least move the pet to a pavement or some such safe area...thank you dmin, for readng this and hopefully posting it.
