FROM DOREEN: BLONDE AMBITION Doreens head was down but she could hear mumbling and cameras clicking. They found me. she said soberly. She peeked and saw about ten people standing there, taking pictures of her squatted in the dingy doorway. Crap, This is allllllllll I needed! She stood up, held her head high and looked straight at the photogs. What do you want to know? Everyone spoke at once. Yeah. Lets try one at a time! she said in an irritated tone. The photographers and paparazzi stood in front of her and continued yapping away, all asking all sorts of questions. Doreen stood there and screamed, SHUT UPPPPPPPPP! Everyone quieted down. Now, you! she pointed at one guy, Whats your question? Doreen, why are you running away? Im not running away, you ball-sack! You! she said to another. What are your plans for the future? Do I look like I have a goddamned crystal ball? Next! Will you go back to Kevin Dawson if he wants to reconcile with you? Of course but I dont see that happening! Why not? the man asked. Because! Im toxic, thats why! Im like King Midas but instead of gold, everything I touch turns to shit! I have a past! Ive been in jail before.....only for a week or so at a time but Ive been there and although Im ashamed of it, I cant change my past! Kevin knew nothing about it! Im totally at fault for not telling him and I take full responsibility! He shouldnt have to suffer for it.....so thats why, I doubt hell take me back. Im just not good for him, is all. What about your children? What about them? Are you walking away from them too? Gimme a break! Of course not! Doreen, Doreen! another one yelled out, You were accused of murder and acquitted. Did you murder somebody? No, but you might be the first! Doreen dead-panned. Some of the reporters and photographers laughed.
