FROM IFES DESK OPINION 8-9-14 Davis, the renowned negotiator seems to have been programmed to disorganize our polity, set us against each other and absolutely erode what is left of the unity and tolerance of the Nigerian nation. Is this not a shameful development ... that a people known for her illustrious and brilliance; associated with countless scientific and technological innovative feats ... a people gallantly involved in peace-keeping initiatives within and outside the continent - would depend on an Australian businessman and gossip whose sole aim is to further destroy the goodwill that still binds the multi-tribal nation of Nigeria? Davis can afford to utter what he desires. He will get away with it. And the nation drifts apart. And when this happens, what is the fate of the people who are faced currently with upheavals? Has it occurred to anyone that Davis maybe a distracting positioned to deepen the tribal gullies that already exist? The fact Davis achieved some successes during the Niger delta crisis does not make him trustworthy? Infact that makes him a convenient connivance to accuse just anyone of sponsorship of Boko Haram. Nigerians are aware of the evolution of that terrorist group as a conglomeration of disfavored and disgruntled soldiers who have lost control over the bulldog which they bred to startle governments that do not do their bids. Let it be known therefore that with the present operational tactics of this terrorist group, it is not sponsored by one or two individuals. As blabbered by Davis. Boko Haram has long been adopted by the world terrorist community which finances the group with all that is needed to achieve its global motive which is religiously-motivated.
