If you want to recycle and do not have one of the green containers, please call 270-678-4302 (Landfill) to request one. Items that can be recycled curbside include the following items. I have also included other info about other recycling services we offer: Please rinse out bottles or jugs before placing them in your recycling bin. Items accepted for recycling are: •Aluminum Cans •Bread Sacks •Brown Glass •Cardboard •Clear Glass •Dish Detergent •Dry Cleaner Bags •Grade #1 Clear Plastic (Soda/Water Bottles) •Grade #2 Clear Plastic (Soda/Water Bottles) •Grade #3 Clear Plastic (Soda/Water Bottles) •Grade #4 Clear Plastic (Soda/Water Bottles) •Grade #5 Clear Plastic (Soda/Water Bottles) •Grade #6 Clear Plastic (Soda/Water Bottles) •Grade #7 Clear Plastic (Soda/Water Bottles) •Green Glass •Grocery Bags •Laundry Detergent Jugs •Newspapers •Office Paper •Plastic Juice Containers •Plastic Milk Jugs •Shredded Paper •Steel Cans •Water Bottles (Hoses, cloth or rubber cannot be recycled at this time) E-Scrap & Styrofoam is accepted Saturdays only at Southgate Plaza Dropoff. If you have a large quantity of acceptable electronics, please call Public Works 270-651-5977. Appliances may be delivered to the landfill located at 400 Glen Garry Road, Glasgow, for recycling during regular operating hours. Landfill operating hours are 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday and 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Appliances accepted for recycling include: washers, dryers, stoves, water heaters and dishwashers. The freon must be properly removed or the compressor must be off refrigerators, air conditioners and freezers at the time of disposal. A truck is sent to area businesses on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons collecting recyclables. This program works on a call-in basis. Call 678-4302 for more information on this service. Area residents may participate in our recycling program by dropping-off recyclables at our Southgate Plaza Dropoff site located at 619 S. L. Rogers Wells Boulevard on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
