FROM MOONIANA AND THE LOST CHRONICLES OF SOPHIA Agent Smith is the most important of the two Satan figures in the film. Originally an Archon or Servant of the Architect or Ruler, Agent Smith is killed by Neo, but instead of vanishing into the system, he re-programs himself to assimilate all other programs into himself, deleting them and reprogramming them to become clones of him. In Anthroposophical terms, Agent Smith symbolizes the AHRIMAN forces of normalisation and robotisation, whereby all human individuality is dissolved and the individual becomes a mindless clone and blindly serves the dehumanised, robotic institutions of the Matrix. In the third film the Ahrimanic method of Agent Smith is so successful that all pther programs, including that of The Architect himslef are threatened with permanent deletion. This basically represents the termination of God by the Devil and the creating of a permanent program of robotic assimilation on the Earth.
