FROM SANITATION WINTER COLLECTION ADVISORY Alley Streets - Common Easements ATTENTION: Homeowners and Residents During the snow season (November through March), weather conditions may result in accumulations of snow and/or ice-in alley streets or common easements. These passageways are NOT public thoroughfares and are not salted or plowed by the NYC Department of Sanitation (DSNY). When alley streets and common easements have accumulations of snow/ice, they become inaccessible and/or potentially unsafe. DSNY collection service via these passageways will be suspended. Homeowners and residents who wish to receive collection service during these periods must place their properly packaged refuse or recycling IN FRONT OF THEIR HOME/BUILDING. Material may not be placed out for collection before 4:00 PM (October through April) the evening before your scheduled collection day. Thank you for your cooperation.
