FROM SICKBED TO CHRISTMAS CRACKER CHAMP Dee murphy has had a horrid few weeks with his health but it didnt stop him taking down the 147s Christmas cracker , beating a field of 85 players in the process after over 13 hours of poker. On one of the best nights in the club for a long time with the poker at its highest standard no-one would begrudge dee his moment in the limelight...When kevin McCann busted on the bubble we were down to our final nine on a final table dealt by one of the tourni directors nigel clewer who done a fantastic job all night and marshalled the final table as good as anyone could have done. With all players getting a prize our first faller was one of our Slovakian friends rudolp who grabbed 9th place..Next out was Robert Wilkinson who played a blinder all night but after having problems with some of the live rules he finally busted 8th...Larne man chris longmore was next out in 7th and this man is another great edition to our club game. Recent cookstown finalist Stephen neeson had another deep run but finally succumbed in 6th place.With only 5 left the prizes started to jump up rather steeply and after a lot of too-ing and fro-ing club player aaron connor bit the dust ..Another club player lucky len clewer who had a super final table hit the rails 4th for a nice payday.We were down to 3 , Big seamus birt, Big deeko and the even Bigger in heart dee murphy and after a chip count dee was declared the winner on chipcount with deeko and seamus sharing the same prize pool leaving everyone more than happy.. Well done to all who cashed and a big thank you to all who helped in making this night a great success nigel clewer, Kieran coyle, rab fee, claire fee, mark fee ,colin robinson, martin in truffles for the lone of the seating ,and seamus and vincey birt for the extra tables and cards ect..also alanna who helped make the tea..last but not least club owner Darren clark for the use of the premises , the bounties and the splendid buffet he put on for all the players , the game wouldnt happen without him Talking of bounties the winners were lee wakefield vodka, tommy beck vodka , aaron connor and chris longmore were the moes grill voucher winners...till the next time I hope yous all have a happy and healthy Christmas break and hope to see yous next sunday for our carribean league game.. In sundays carribean league game 28 players took to the felt and after Jordon brown busted in 3rd place shaggy scullion and walter the hitman Wilkinson chopped up first and second place with Lydia Anderson finishing 4th for the second week running and surely its only a matter of time for her. again well done to all who cashed.. ps-- tomorrow I have to collect my turkey from paul and merv up in dunadry and if anyone hasnt sourced one yet they have a few left at a very reasonable price so dont delay contact them today....till next time may all your cards be live ones.
