FROM: SUNDAYS OPEN Q & A Was the temple that solomon built finished in 960 bc? If so would 960+2015 = 2975 (5x5x7x17) be of any significance? I think i saw a reference to this somewhere before. Also what is the difference between a child of God being chastised and the unsaved being chastised? All hardship in this life is controlled by God as well as all good things according to isaiah 45:7 so its confusing to understand am I being chastised because im a son of God or just for having the breath of life in a world under the curse of God? ANSWER Yes those numbers are significant. The tie in would be the completion of the physical temple, to the completion of Gods spiritual temple of the body of believers. God tells us that He only chastens those He loves. While it’s true that the unsaved suffer setbacks, and bad things happen to them just as they may to the child of God, the difference is that God is working through the happenings of the one that is a true believer. He is not working this same way with an unsaved person. Job 21:7 Wherefore do the wicked live, become old, yea, are mighty in power? 8 Their seed is established in their sight with them, and their offspring before their eyes. 9 Their houses are safe from fear, neither is the rod of God upon them.
