FROM THE 1450 WNBY NEWS CENTER (10-24-14) President Barrack Obama is scheduled to rally Michigan Democrats on November 1st in Detroit. Two sources familiar with the Presidents plans say the trip is not set in stone because of the ongoing health crisis surrounding the Ebola virus. Sites for the rally are still being discussed and scouted. Seasonally unadjusted unemployment rates in September were mixed and little changed in the state’s 17 major labor market regions. According to the Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget, Total employment and labor force levels declined seasonally in most areas over the month. The Michigan Department of Human Services says recent initiatives have saved taxpayers $127 million and underscore the success of DHS efforts to tackle fraud and to ensure that public assistance goes to Michigan families, children and individuals with the greatest need. The DHS Office of Inspector General’s fiscal year 2013 Annual Report shows that last year alone the unit determined $116 million of fraud, cost savings and established program disqualifications. $9 million was saved by finding assistance recipients who were incarcerated and another $2 million by matching big lottery winners with recipients.
