FROM THE CITY OF JACKSONVILLE: WINTER STORM UPDATE – from JPD Patrol – (1 29 14 12:00 noon) NC DOT crews are continuously clearing the roadways, but are a long way from being finished. Traffic Division Supervisor Sergeant Phillip Williams has advised that NC DOT has been working on US Hwy. 17 but the dividing lines are still not visible. NC DOT salt trucks are following behind the motor graders and working vigorously to make the roads safer. “From midnight to noon, JPD responded to two minor traffic crashes and eight disabled motorists.” said Lieutenant Devon Bryan, Traffic Supervisor on duty. “We appreciate the assistance of the public in staying off the roadways.”
