FROM THE DELTA AIR LINES RETIREMENT COMMITTEE. REFRESH MY MEMORY AGAIN....JUST WHO IS THROWING GRANNY OFF THE CLIFF? Fellow Delta Retirees, As most of you are aware, the U.S. Senate has been holding a secret conference for the last few days. The purpose of these meetings is to find a way to re-open the government and raise the debt ceiling. There is not much doubt that whatever plan they bring forward will include cuts to Social Security. Of prime concern to current retirees is how our Cost Of Living Adjustments will be calculated going forward. In order for Congress to change the way our future raises are determined a bill will have to be passed in the House of Representatives. Without a doubt, many will be introduced. We really need to let them know that retirees cannot afford to see our future slip away due to eroded income and inflation. The only time we will have to speak out is now, before the votes are taken.
