FROM THE DESK OF SCHOOL SUPERINTENDENT NANETTE PAULEY: In order to provide additional time for curriculum and professional development, the periodic early dismissal of students will continue for the 2014-15 school year. Students will be dismissed one hour early on the following dates: September 16, October 14, November 11, December 9, January 13, February 10, March 10, April 14 and May 12. Homework Hour will again be available for students who need additional time or assistance to complete class and homework. Beginning on September 15, from 3:15 until 4:15, students who wish to participate may report to Mr. McCloskey’s classroom. Homework Hour will be held every Monday through Thursday until 4:15. There will be no Homework Hour on early dismissal days. Other events to note include middle/high school pictures on September 17, pupil count day on October 1 and Homecoming on October 10. The Marching Band will participate in the Southwestern Michigan College 50th Anniversary Bash on Saturday, September 20 and the Battle Creek Marching Festival on Saturday, September 27. In order to facilitate communication with parents, each building principal sends out a monthly newsletter. Parents are encouraged to update mailing addresses to ensure they receive all mailed correspondence. Please also update phone numbers with your childs school office so that messages sent via the phone alert system are received.
