FROM THE NATIONAL JOURNAL: Oh, and a big thank you to the moronic Left for inflicting this upon us. Obamacare to Spike Health Costs for 11 Million Americans Peter J. Roskam February 26, 2014 A recent Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) report found that two-thirds of Americans who work at small businesses will see premiums increase under Obamacare. What theyre saying: CNBC: About two-thirds of Americans who work at small businesses will see health-insurance premiums increase under Obamacare, according to a new federal report. FOX News: …the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services concludes that 11 million small business employees may see their premiums rise under the law. Wall Street Journal: The report …is the latest piece of bad news for the presidents signature domestic achievement. Washington Post: Officials later point out that, when employers are forced to pay more for their plan, they generally pass on some of those costs to their employees. …96 percent of small businesses say their premiums have increased in the past five years. Forbes: But CMS projections almost certainly understate the problem, one that will begin to affect millions of workers in the second half of 2014. Its no wonder why the Administration decided to release this report two years late with no public announcement - its more devastatingproof that Obamacare is making it harder for millions of struggling Americans to make ends meet for their families, Roskam said. The Administrations own actuaries found that Obamacare will increase healthcare costs for two-thirds of people working for small businesses - an astounding 11 million people. This comes as countless Americans have been kicked off plans they liked, are losing access to doctors they know and trust and are seeing their individual healthcare choices dwindle day by day. Healthcare costs for small business employers are also set to rise, and the money that small businesses could spend on growth and hiring is now being eaten up by higher Obamacare costs. We cannot let people continuously get pummeled by a law that is taking more money out of their pockets, decreasing healthcare options and further shrinking the American workforce that is already at record low participation rate. House Republicans are forwarding patient-centered healthcare reforms that live up to the promise of increasing access to quality, affordable health care for all Americans.
