FROM THE NEWSROOM: After attending a recent retreat at Woodstock Academy, Brooklyn Board of Education member James Kelley told WINY the Academy is striving to develop better communications with its sending schools -- possibly creating a parent-liaison relationship between the Academy and each sending town. Kelley said he feels this initiative is important, as well as other efforts at the Academy to improve academics and the physical structure of the campus. Woodstock Academy Headmaster Chris Sandford said reaching out to parents is another goal of the Academy, which is considering offering classes for parents on the college application process. As previously reported, community members have been expressing concerns for some time that the relationship between the Brooklyn and Woodstock Academy needs to be improved.
