FROM THE NEWSROOM: As food drives continue throughout the region, most recently it was announced that Handcuff Hunger held by the Putnam and Plainfield police departments over the weekend brought in 525 turkeys, $4,600 cash and a large assortment of miscellaneous groceries. Putnam Deputy Police Chief Lee Konicki says the collection rate showcases the generosity of Northeastern CT. Daily Bread in Putnam has announced it has given meals to more than 400 families.
