FROM THE NEWSROOM: Based off the 2013-14 fiscal year-end report, Woodstock town officials say that -- after deducting the Board of Finance Contingency Fund of nearly $50,000 -- a balance remains of more than $108,000 in un-expended funds from the last fiscal year. The Board of Selectmen has forwarded a recommendation to the Finance Board to approve some fund transfers to different town accounts; one proposal is transfer $10,000 to the existing capital non-recurring account for expansion and drainage of the town hall parking lot, another and another $10,000 to the same account for Camp Nahaco infrastructure upgrades. First Selectman Allan Walker says that $73,000 has also been recommended to be moved to the same account for a station hauling truck, and $15,000 for upgrades to the town hall HVAC system. Speaking to WINY about the funding set aside for Camp Nahaco, Walker said the money earmarked for the camp may not actually be spent there. An ordinance requires both the towns of Woodstock and Eastford, which co-own Camp Nahaco, to contribute equally to the park. If Eastford cant match the funds, the money will likely be spent elsewhere in Woodstock. Tune in for the full report.
