FROM THE NEWSROOM: EAST HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Members of the states congressional delegation want to see the full details of audits conducted at Veterans Administration medical facilities, including six in Connecticut. U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal and Rep. John Larson were scheduled to appear Friday with veterans at VFW Post 2083 in East Hartford to discuss a letter they are sending to VA Secretary Eric Shinseki. Shinseki recently announced his department would conduct face to face audits amid investigations of VA patients dying while awaiting treatment and falsified appointment records. The delegation members said they want all the details from those audits, including the accuracy and duration of reported wait times for appointments at the VAs West Haven and Newington campuses, as well as at the six clinics in Danbury, New London, Stamford, Waterbury, Willimantic and Winsted.
