FROM THE NEWSROOM: Governor Dannel Malloy has lifted the travel ban on local roads in Fairfield and Litchfield Counties, however the ban remains in place for the rest of the state including interstate highways. The Governor addressed the media in a briefing this morning, saying that once the state roads are cleared, resources will be directed to Eastern Conn. which is bearing the brunt of the storm, especially in the I-395 corridor. A conference call with local municipal leaders around the state is scheduled for 10:30 this morning. Malloy says that those who live in Eastern Conn. should remain in doors for the duration of the storm. Putnam Police Chief Rick Hayes urges people to stay off the roads. Malloy says that people largely followed travel ban orders; only 11 accidents reported on the highway system since travel ban was implemented, one with injury. Tune in for the full report.
