(AP) — The Connecticut Supreme Court has upheld the murder conviction of a New York man that was based in part on the testimony of an eyewitness who pointed to a legal intern when asked to pick out the shooter in court. Dashawn Revels is serving a 55-year sentence for the 2009 murder of Bryan Davila on a New London street. The witness saw the crime from her apartment window, 256 feet away, and identified Revels as the killer when police drove her to the scene of his arrest. But during an evidence suppression hearing, she identified an intern sitting at the defense table as the shooter. The high court rejected the defense argument that she was unduly influenced the night of the shooting by seeing Revels in handcuffs, surrounded by police.
