FROM THE NEWSROOM: Killingly Superintendent Kevin Farr says - TopicsExpress

FROM THE NEWSROOM: Killingly Superintendent Kevin Farr says preliminary data from the state shows that district-wide graduation rates have increased by nearly 6% since 2013, something Farr says goes beyond the goal set by the Board of Education last year. Farr identified the graduation rate as an issue when he first came to the district back in 2012, which was as low as 68% several years before. As of now, the data shows that the district is up to at 83.4% at the high school. Between that and the implementation of full-day kindergarten, Farr feels the Killingly Schools are on the right path to show students how to be successful, and to take full advantage of their education. The presentation also covered chronic absences which have been reduced by 4% since last year. The superintendent gave credit to the faculty, who he said had “their shoulders to the wheel” pushing to increase students motivation and interest in school. Tune in for the full report.
