FROM THE NEWSROOM: Maple Street in Killingly was shut down between Route 6 and Palmer Street for a period of time this evening following a two-vehicle accident, in which one driver was found to be operating under the influence, according to a news release from State Police at Troop D. According to the report, an Acura TSX driven by 25-year-old Cecilia Chevalier of Bush Hill Road in Brooklyn was traveling south just after 5:30 p.m., when a Dodge Avenger driven by 20-year-old Spencer Breton of Stetson Road in Brooklyn, traveling north, took a left in front of the first vehicle, causing the accident. Following the incident, Bretons passenger, 50-year-old Christopher Nantais of Valley Street in Willimantic, was transported to Day Kimball Hospital by KB Ambulance with a suspected minor injury. The Acuras driver, Chevalier, and her passenger, Nicholas Bath of Oak Drive in Plainfield, were found to have no injuries, but both vehicles needed to be towed away from the scene. Breton was found to be under the influence and was arrested for such without further incident.
