FROM THE NEWSROOM: NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) — A 16-month-old boy is in critical condition after falling from the second story of a New Haven home. Police tell The New Haven Register that the child had been at a window pushing on a screen when it gave. An unidentified woman tried unsuccessfully to catch the toddler. Emergency responders found the boy lying on the window screen on the ground. He is at Yale-New Haven Pediatric Hospital. A police spokesman says charges have not yet been filed.
