FROM THE NEWSROOM: STRATFORD, Conn. (AP) — Police have charged two 14-year-olds with painting swastikas and racist graffiti on a vacant home, trees and signs in Stratford. Police Capt. Paul DosSantos says the teens both face a criminal mischief charge. One of them also was charged with a hate crime. Their names are not being released and the cases are being handled in Juvenile Court. Police say the graffiti also included other Nazi symbols and the letters WP, apparently an abbreviation for White Power. It was discovered by residents last month in a one-block area near the intersection of Wilcoxon Avenue and Charleton Street.
