FROM THE NEWSROOM: State police will be collecting toys for children in need this holiday season at several locations locally today. The annual “Stuff a Cruiser Holiday Toy Drive” will take place today between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. State Police Spokesman Lt. Paul Vance has asked that residents donate new, unwrapped toys “to ensure that the less fortunate children of Connecticut share in the joy of the holiday season.” State police with the Troop D Barracks will collect toys at several locations – including both Bennys stores in Killingly, Kmart in Putnam, the Walmarts in Putnam and Brooklyn, and the Ocean State Job Lot in Brooklyn – to benefit the Tommy Toy Fund of Norwich.
